Gifts of Insurance
A gift of your life insurance is a relatively low-cost way to make a sizable donation to Houston Hospice. No other kind of gift can magnify your original contribution as much as a gift of life insurance. You can donate a policy you no longer need. You can name Houston Hospice as the primary, secondary, remainder or residual beneficiary of an existing policy. You can establish a new policy and name Houston Hospice as the irrevocable beneficiary.
Benefits of gifts of life insurance
- Donating a life insurance policy can increase the amount you're able to give. For example, if you pay $100,000 in premiums on a life insurance policy, the death benefit could be double that or more
- A gift of life insurance also can be a more affordable way of contributing to charity. Rather than giving a large amount all at once, you can pay the smaller monthly premiums and still make a substantial donation to Houston Hospice
- Allow you to reduce your taxable estate and lower estate taxes
- Provide tax deductions for both the current value of the policy and for any future premium payments
